Toffee Chocolate Chip Bars

I adapted this recipe a bit from Mel's Kitchen Cafe. These bars are very rich. They don't take long to make and they are even better the next day.

Toffee Chocolate Chip Bars
1 and 1/2 sticks of butter (or 3/4 c.)
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla extract
1/2 t. almond extract
2 1/3 c. flour
1/4 t. salt
1 bag of chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 bag toffee bits
Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the eggs and extracts and beat until fluffy. Then add in the flour, salt and chips (reserve 1 c. of chips). Beat until just incorporated. Then reserve one cup of the batter and press the rest into the bottom of a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350. Remove from the oven and pour sweetened condensed milk all over the bottom layer. Then lay bits of dough on top off the milk layer. Flatten the dough in your hand before you put it down. Then sprinkle it all with the remaining chips and bake for 25 more minutes.
